The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has been cutting down trees for Metro-3 car shed in Aarey since the last few weeks. Environmentalist Zoru Bathena has filed a petition against MMRC for violating court’s orders by cutting down trees.

Meanwhile, HC has dissolved the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Tree Authority committee terming it as illegal and has ordered to appoint a new committee. Along with this, the court has also suspended all the proposals approved by the same committee.
