The last date for filing nominations for Lok Sabha election was April 9 and almost 156 candidates contesting from various political parties, and independently, have filed their nomination from Mumbai LS constituencies. The filing of nomination started from April 2, 2019. 

Of the six LS constituencies in Mumbai, 33 candidates have filed their nomination from city’s North-East seat which is the highest. Followed by, 30 candidate nominations to contest LS polls from Mumbai South Central constituency. 

From Mumbai North constituency, 22 candidates have filed their nomination to contest the Lok Sabha election while 27 candidates are contesting from Mumbai North-West. Moreover, 27 candidates have filed their nomination to contest from Mumbai North Central while 17 candidates will be contesting from Mumbai South.

Shiv Sena candidate Gajanan Kirtikar and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Sanjay Dina Patil also filed their nomination on Tuesday - the last day of the process. Most candidates from the major political parties submitted their papers on Monday.

The candidates can withdraw their papers till April 12. The LS polls in Mumbai will be held in the fourth phase on April 29. In Mumbai, 2,601 polling booths will be set up in 527 locations.
