Amid the huge ruckus, after a young college teacher was set ablaze, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday said that the state government will take strict action against the suspect who committed the crime.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who was attending a facilitation event at Balmohan Vidyamandir school in Dadar, assured that the suspect will be punished soon while demanding everyone to maintain calm. 

“The incident is so barbaric that words are not enough to describe it. I will plead to everyone to have patience. The suspects will be punished soon. This government will take strict action,” Thackeray said. 

CM Uddhav Thackeray stated that the state government will bring justice to the deceased girl, on priority basis and the suspect will be hanged.

The Balmohan Vidyamandir School on Monday facilitated Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and State Minister Water Resources Jayant Patil. Both the CM and minister are the alumni of the school. 

Earlier, a 24-year-old young college teacher was set ablaze on February 3 allegedly by a man in Maharashtra’s Wardha district who had been stalking her for the past two years. 

On Monday, the girl was reported dead as she couldn’t survive the injuries on her body. The young professor suffered 40 per cent burn injuries. 

Speaking about the issue, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that the case trial would be held in a fast track court and family members of the deceased girl will be provided government jobs.

The suspect named Vicky Nagrale (27) was arrested by the police from Takalghat near Nagpur on the day of the incident. He was charged under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 326 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
