With the Maharashtra Assembly Elections nearing, all the political parties are campaigning with all their might and as a result, they are putting advertisements on social media as well as public places. Owing to these advertisements, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has managed to earn a hefty amount of revenue.
In order to promote their party, Shiv Sena has put up advertisements on 100 buses whereas Congress has put advertisements on 20 BEST buses.
The advertisements were placed on the buses through a company appointed by the BEST corporation. According to the reports, BEST was able to cash in around ₹48 lakh through the advertisements.
The cost of an advertisement on a single BEST bus is close to ₹40,000 and this year, Shiv Sena decided to put their advertisements on 100 buses which helped the Corporation earned around ₹40 lakh. On the other hand, the Congress party had to pay close to ₹10 lakh for promoting their party.

Currently, there are close 120 buses running on Mumbai roads that have advertisements on them.
