The ongoing tension between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra is not new to the people. The Shiv Sena announced that it will not ally with BJP in the upcoming polls and will contest in the elections alone.

On Friday, while addressing a press conference in Mumbai, BJP president Amit Shah said that The next elections will be fought with Shiv Sena only.” By saying this, Shah has proposed to form an alliance with Shiv Sena for the upcoming polls in the state. However, the question arises whether Shiv Sena would be willing to join hands with the BJP.

The BJP is trying to persuade Shiv Sena to contest the upcoming elections together. In the celebration of BJP’s Foundation Day, every other opposition was criticised but not Shiv Sena and that indicates towards BJP’s desperation to join hands with Shiv Sena.

Earlier in the day, while addressing the rally of BJP workers in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised Bal Thackeray without naming Shiv Sena. However, later in a press conference, Shah clearly stated that the BJP will fight elections with Shiv Sena.
