Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday evening official announced their alliance for the assembly elections in Maharashtra which are scheduled on October 21. 

Both the ruling parties said that they will be contesting 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections together along with smaller allies including Republican Party of India (A), Rashtriya Samaj Paksha (RSP), Shiv Sangram Party (SSP) and Swabhimani Paksha.

While talking to the media, Maharashtra BJP President Chandrakant Patil informed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will jointly announce the seat distribution through a joint statement.

Moreover, Patil said that BJP's top office-bearers in Delhi also hold the stakes in discussion for the seat-sharing between both the saffron parties. 

This comes after Shiv Sena gave AB forms to some of its candidates including Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray while delcaring an informal list of candidates for "tussel free" constituencies.
