On Sunday, May 15, Maharashtra Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis in a public rally conducted in Goregaon, warned state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray to not underestimate his political weight by claiming he would break the "Babri Power Structure" in Maharashtra, reports stated.

Fadnavis was quoted in accounts elaborating on how Thackeray mocked his role in the demolition of the Babri structure and ridiculed him for being a heavyweight by reportedly adding that if Fadnavis stepped on the mosque it would have fallen.

In a sarcastic tone, Fadnavis thanked Thackeray for showing confidence in him. The BJP leader claimed that when he partook in the Ayodhya movement, he was the youngest elected corporator. He reportedly mentioned that back then, his weight was 128 kg which is now 102 kg. Following this comment, he warned Thackeray to not underestimate his political weight and threatened that he could bring down the "Babri Power Structure in Maharashtra".

Based on accounts, Fadnavis elucidated that Thackeray is the only CM who believes that PM meetings are for entertainment purposes. Therefore, to him, it comes as no surprise that Thackeray has been operating the state government like IPL by revelling in power by enjoying and entertaining himself.

The opposition leader uttered that in the past two years when many succumbed and faced the ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic, Thackeray was in the comfort of his palatial home, Fadnavis claims that Thackeray did not step out of his residence in the last two years.

Commenting on Shiv Sena's claim that the BJP was attempting to break Mumbai from Maharashtra, the BJP leader uttered that it was nothing but a false campaign against the Union and the BJP. He believes that Mumbai will continue to be an important part of the state.

Fadnavis in his rally declared that they are speaking of Mumbai's transformation by removing Shiv Sena's rule in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He proclaimed that the party wishes to offer relief to the city that has been looted by the party in the past few years.

Fadnavis then went on to compare Bal Thackeray’s Hindutva with Uddhav Thackeray’s. He did so by elucidating that Balasaheb Thackeray never compromised on Hindutva but his son did so to retain power.

The BJP leader commented on the controversial Rana couple by remarking on how they have been arrested under charges of sedition for chanting the Hanuman Chalisa. He juxtaposed this with Akbaruddin Owaisi AIMIM leader who paid his respect to Aurangazeb’s tomb. Fadnavis alleged that Thackeray did not arrest him under sedition charges. He claimed that the state government also kept mum when Usmani Shergil conducted a public rally and spoke against India.

Then Fadnavis spoke about BJP's alliance with NCP by remarking that while it was a mistake, he claims that in the case the alliance had worked, he assured of no scope of accommodating any associate of Dawood Ibrahim. He claimed that he would rather not be in power.

The BJP leader concluded that Thackeray has compromised by retaining Nawab Malik even after being aware of his association with Ibrahim's associates. Fadnavis was quoted saying that Thackeray has comprised Hindutva to appease Congress to ensure that the coalition stays intact.
