In a rally held on Saturday, May 14, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray attacked the BJP by reportedly remarking that the party was propagating a fake version of Hindutva and thus misguiding India.

While speaking at the Shiv Sena’s Shiv Sampark Abhiyan rally in Mumbai's BKC ground, Thackeray has been quoted in accounts elaborating on how these days all parties including those that have developed the fake version of Hindutva with them earlier are now misleading India.

Based on narratives, he blamed the BJP for distorting Hindutva ideology. He added that an illusion has been created on how the BJP is the protector and custodian of Hindutva.

According to accounts, Thackeray also attacked the RSS by claiming it never partook in the freedom fight against the British. He elaborated that the Shiv Sena's commitment was to take ahead the lessons of Bal Thackeray's Hindutva. The Maharashtra Chief Minister added that these ideas are of nationalism and not communalism. He went on to allege that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project looks to separate Mumbai and that Maharashtra never asked for it.

Thackeray claimed that Jan Sangh was initially there in the struggle for a united Maharashtra, but according to him, the Thackeray family was there till the end. He alleges that while the Samyukta Maharashtra Samiti united everyone, Jana Sangh was the first to come since which attempts have been made to separate Mumbai.

It has been reported that then Thackeray spoke on national problems such as unemployment, inflation, the Kashmir conflict, and Kashmiri Pandit killings by questioning why the Union and the BJP do not speak on these problems. He voiced that this isn't their Hindutva and that the Centre and the BJP were attempting to draw the attention away from the public from real problems.

Reports suggest that Thackeray also made indirect comments on BJP leader Kirit Somaiya and MP Navneet Rana and her husband. He did so by elucidating that instead of offering security to Kashmiri Pandits, the Union is providing security to those who are causing issues in Mumbai.

Thackeray allegedly asked what the BJP will do about the killing of Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit and wondered if they will recite the Hanuman Chalisa there.

The Chief Minister also opined that the BJP was not happy with the way the state is developing, therefore it is attempting to depict that there are law and order problems in Maharashtra by defaming it. He uttered that just because they are patient, it does not mean they are weak.

Thackeray juxtaposed the Union's alleged behaviour to "jilted lover does by throwing acid on the girl". He believes the state is being targeted by central agencies such as the ED and CBI.

The CM elaborated that they will not leave them if they implicate their leaders in fake cases. He threatened a befitting reply and the absence of forgiveness.

The Maharashtra leader is claimed to have taken an indirect dig at Raj Thackeray by comparing him to a movie character. He believes that the individual thinks that he is Balasaheb Thackeray and wears a shawl.
