Due to the 21-days nationwide lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many people found themselves stranded in different cities and away from their homes. The Chief Ministers across the state have been working to ensure that the people who have been stranded due to the coronavirus outbreak are taken care of.

In such a case, a Mumbai resident stuck in Delhi due to the lockdown has come forward to appreciate the efforts of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in providing her aid along with accommodation in the Maharastra Sadan in the national capital.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister reached out to the lady stuck in Delhi due to the nationwide lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak and helped her with the accommodation.

Elizabeth Pingale, a resident of Mulund, was quarantined in Delhi after she landed at Delhi International Airport on March 22. At the time, the government protocol suggested that a person coming from abroad will be placed under quarantine in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

After Pingale’s quarantine period ended, she was given an alternative accommodation which didn’t work for her. As she couldn’t travel to Mumbai due to the restrictions, Pingale shop a video expressing her problems which somehow reached Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Later, Thackeray contacted her personally and told her that the Maharashtra government will take care of her while arranging accommodation for Pingale in Delhi-based Maharashtra Sadan.

“CM Uddhav Thackeray called me his sister and said I don’t need to worry. It felt like my brother is standing behind me firmly and supporting me,” Pingale said.

The nationwide lockdown placed by the centre will end on April 14 and was announced on March 24 night by the Prime Minister in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
