On Wednesday, while paying tribute to Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at NCPA in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the state government will establish a memorial remembering him.

CM Fadnavis handed over Vajpayee’s Asthi Kalash to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders present at the meeting, to immerse them in 14 rivers across the state.

Atalji dedicated his whole life to the country and his demise is a huge loss for this India. From politics to social work, there’s a lot to learn from him,” Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. 


Many senior leaders were present at the event including Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Maharashtra BJP chief Raosaheb Danve.

CM Fadnavis informed that Vajpayee opposed the idea of women needing to cover their faces with a veil and despite people not agreeing with him, he stood by his views.
