CM Uddhav Thackeray's wife, Rashmi Thackeray, tests positive for coronavirus

Records show that CM and his wife, on March 11, visited Mumbai's JJ Hospital to get vaccinated for coronavirus, whereby they received the first dose.

Maharashtra's Tourism Minister and CM Uddhav Thackeray's son Aaaditya Thackeray recently tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). He shared the information on Twitter and asked every body who came in touch with him to get tested for the viral infection.

However, reports released on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, confirmed that CM's wife and Aaditya's mother Rashmi Thackeray  has also tested positive for COVID-19. The information was confirmed by an official from the ministry who stated that the health report was released in the night on Monday, March 22, 2021. Currently. she is under the quarantine protocol at CM's official residence, Varsha.

Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in the state have been on a rise and the number of cases in Mumbai have increased significantly. Maharashtra, on Sunday, March 21, 2021, reported more than 30,000 COVID-19 cases which became the highest single day report so far.

Observing the rise, CM stated that if people do not follow the coronavirus norms and rules, then lockdown will be the only option for the government. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope confirmed the same while addressing the media. Citizens have been asked to follow the rules strictly by wearing masks and maintaining a social distancing at all times.
