In the view of upcoming Lok Sabha election in Mumbai, which will be held on April 29, the city’s suburban collector office has decided to initiate voter awareness programmes at the domestic and international airport. Along with the airport, the awareness programme will also be held at railway stations, and bus depots.

The Mumbai Suburban Collector office caters to four LS constituencies including North-West, North, North-Central, and North-East. The voting process in Mumbai will start on April 29 which is ahead of a long weekend. In order to motivate citizens to vote, these awareness programmes will be carried out.

The authorities have directed the central and western railway to make regular announcements regarding the election phase and its dates. Along with this, the BEST has also been asked to announce the same in its buses. Anganwadi and community health workers have also been told to motivate the citizens to vote by spreading awareness in slums.
