Live Updates: Congress president Rahul Gandhi visits Mumbai; will address party workers

Rahul Gandhi Press Conference

  • Congress to dedicate a wall in their new office which is being constructed in Delhi. To write the names of those party workers who were killed while working for the party.
  • Talking to media, Rahul said that you should speak about the corruption under BJP rule. We understand that the media houses and their owners are under pressure from the BJP but I believe that they will start speaking for what is right before the upcoming elections.
  • If they (RSS, BJP) attack and aggravate, Congress’ workers should spread the word of love and decency.
  • We want our party workers to be powerful. You fight against BJP’s lies and so we understand your condition. This is your party and not only of the leaders. You hold the most important place in the party. In this ideological war, you understand it the best. Like Mumbai unites people, Congress shall does the same.
  • At Delhi, I said that the one who is a congress party worker, will be respected. Without your consent and views, no major decision will be taken and has never been taken.
  • PM has broken our as well as the youth and the farmers' trust, who are suffering likewise because the youth is unemployed and the farmers are under stress.
  • Speaking on Vajpayee’s condition in politics and BJP, he said that Vajpayee worked for the country and I respect him for the position he held. But the current ruling party, his own party doesn’t care.
  • PM Modi talks about Hindu religion but doesn’t care about L.K. Advani, who was his guru.
  • Advani was defeated by Congress. I feel bad when PM Modi doesn’t respect him.
  • Rahul Gandhi claims that a senior opposition leader told him that, "I have been in politics for 50 years and I think that only Congress can develop this nation.”
  • Ranting about Modi, Gandhi said that Modi wanted to be a chawkidaar but he became one only for the rich corporates in India.
  • Under UPA government, farmers' delegation went to speak with then PM Manmohan singh, Sonia Gandhi and me. They said that the loans of the rich are spared but why not ours? After that, Congress spared the loans of the farmer earlier. says Rahul Gandhi.
  • It is youth’s right to demand employment from its government but the Modi government is reluctant.
Taunting Modi, Rahul Gandhi says, “mere bhashano se hindustan chalega, the youth doesn’t need employment.”
