After witnessing a major defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress is trying to pull itself together while several senior leaders are insisting on the need to brainstorm. Meanwhile, Congress has decided to not send its spokespersons on TV debates for a month. The orders were issued for spokespersons on the national and state level.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala took to Twitter to inform regarding the same while appealing the media channels not to include party spokesperson in their shows. 

Congress has decided to not send spokespersons on television debates for a month. All media channels/editors are requested to not place Congress representatives on their shows," said Randeep Surjewala.

Maharashtra Congress has also issued a press release in this regard. This happened amid crisis in Congress over Rahul Gandhi's decision to resign as party President.

Rahul Gandhi-led party won only 52 Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 general elections while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 303 seats. However, the state Congress chiefs have requested Rahul Gandhi to review his decision.
