An investigation by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) into the affairs of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation has revealed many shocking facts and revealed corruption of INR 8,485 crore. Mumbai BJP President MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar has approached Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was led by Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray. Shelar has criticised in the press conference that the percentage of business and looting of Mumbaikars was going on in the civic body before their eyes. The CAG report is only for the period of 28th November 2019 to 31st October 2022 and does not include the Corona activities.
Some works have been awarded without tenders and some more than tenders, breaching the terms and conditions. Shelar said that in 2007, he had exposed the malpractices in the SAP system by mentioning the corruption in the reserve plot acquisition transaction in Dahisar and other cases and had also protested.
'Savarkar Glory Yatra' in Mumbai
Savarkar Gaurav Yatra will be held in 36 Legislative Assemblies in Mumbai in five days. Shelar appealed to Uddhav Thackeray to participate in this Savarkar Glory Yatra instead of showing Savarkar love only in speeches.
