Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has stated that the real NCP in Maharashtra is Ajit Pawar's and he will be given a clock as an election symbol due to the support of two-thirds of the MLAs in the party.

The Dalit Panther organisation will complete fifty years on July 9. On this occasion, a special program will be organised at the 'Bharat Ratna Gan Samradni Lata Mangeshkar' theatre in the city. Therefore, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale came to Mira-Bhayander to give information about this. He interacted with the journalists.

"Ajit Pawar is welcome for deciding to participate in the coalition in the state. Just as Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given the support of forty MLAs to the government. Similarly, Ajit Pawar has also claimed the support of forty MLAs. Ajit Pawar needs the support of two thirds of the party i.e. 36 MLAs. Therefore, it is expected that they will have this strength in numbers. So now it is clear that Ajit Pawar is the real NCP in Maharashtra. Accordingly, he will be given the election symbol of the clock. However, Ajit Pawar should be careful that the MLAs he has with him will not defect him,” said Union Minister Ramdas.

Ajit Pawar who was with NCP for many decades defected the party to join Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis and took an oath as Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister on July 2 at Raj Bhavan.
