Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis on Monday pressed on the requirement to create a dashboard for bed availability in Mumbai’s hospitals.

The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader informed that he has been getting calls from the relatives of patients in Mumbai who have told him that they are not getting admission to any hospital in the city.

“I am constantly getting calls from the relatives of patients in Mumbai telling me that how they are not getting admission in any of hospital and have to run from pillar to post (sic),” Fadnavis tweeted on Monday.

Fadnavis, in a series of tweet, urged the Maharashtra government to create a dashboard for bed availability in hospitals and the same should be available in public domain so that people can get admitted on the basis of the availability of the bed.

“I request the State Government to create a dashboard for bed availability and put it in the public domain so that everyone knows in which hospital should they go for admission and treatment based on the availability of beds (sic),” the LoP said in a tweet tagging CMO Maharashtra.

Earlier, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Praveen Iqbal Singh Chahal informed that the civic body will soon increase the capacity of bed to one lakh for COVID-19 treatment in Mumbai. The 800-bed facility has been provided at MMRDA grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

Meanwhile, after the demand made by the Maharashtra government, nine companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have been deployed in various parts of the state including Mumbai and Pune which have been the worst-hit districts in Maharashtra due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Along with this, nearly five companies of 500 personnel from Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been deployed in Mumbai. This has been done to make sure that the overworked police personnel in Maharashtra get some rest.
