A day before the core committee meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met BJP President and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the appointment of new ministers and to discuss the expansion of state cabinet.

This happened ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections which are scheduled later this year. The changes in the cabinet can be made before the polls. CM Fadnavis plans to hold a meeting on June 9 with state BJP leaders and the central leadership in Delhi in order to discuss the extension of Maharashtra cabinet before the upcoming state assembly elections.

After former Maharashtra BJP President Raosaheb Danve was appointed as Minister of State (MoS) in the newly formed Modi government, the search for party’s new state unit chief has been initiated. CM Fadnavis informed that the party’s state unit chief will soon be appointed after the central leadership provides with the guidelines for the same.
