Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday assured that the accused in the Palghar ‘mob lynching’ incident will not be spared at any cost while warning those who are communalising the issue.

“Some people are trying to communalise the issue. Don't do it. This is not a conflict between two religious groups. This all happened due to a misunderstanding but still, we will take action against those involved in the killing of three men,” Uddhav Thackeray said during his address on social media.

The Chief Minister further informed that the police have arrested 110 people in connection with the Palghar incident and the main accused are behind the bars. We will not spare anyone, Thackeray added.

“We started the search for the accused in little time after midnight. The five main accused are now in jail. We will not spare anyone and have already arrested 110 people. I want to warn those who are trying to give it a communal angle,” Uddhav Thackeray said.

During his address, Uddhav Thackeray expressed that the ‘lynchings’ in Palghar are shameful. However, it should not be politicised, he added while informing that two police personnel have been suspended.

“Some are saying that we are silent. We have not been silent. The Police SP reached at the site in 30 minutes after midnight. We have also suspended two police personnel,” the Maharashtra Chief Minister informed.

During his address, Uddhav Thackeray also informed that he has asked Amit Shah to help investigate those who are trying to spread misinformation on social media regarding the Palghar incident.

Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to CM Uddhav Thackeray over the Palghar ‘mob lynching’ incident and asked for a report on the same.

The Maharashtra Police has arrested 110 people in connection with the Palghar incident where the angry mob ‘lynched’ three people including two Sadhus and a driver. Of the 110 people arrested, 101 people have been sent police custody till April 30 while other 9 have been sent to a juvenile home.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has already announced a high-level inquiry into the Palghar incident while warning those who are creating communal divide over the issue.

The three men who were killed have been identified as Sushil Giri Maharaj (35), Chikane Maharaj Kalpavrikshgiri (70) and Nilesh Telgane (35). They were travelling towards Surat to attend the funeral of common acquaintance and were killed by the mob on suspicion that they were child-kidnappers and organ harvesters. The incident happened in Gadchinchale village in Palghar district of Maharashtra.
