Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday, August 24 passed away at the age of 66. Jaitley, who was one the top politicians in Bharatiya Janata Party, was running ill for a long time and was admitted at AIIMS in Delhi.

Earlier in 2018, the former Union Minister underwent a kidney transplant surgery. The ‘go to’ man of the Narendra Modi government in first term withdrew from active politics in the second term.

Former Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley had denied being inducted in the cabinet in the second term of Narendra Modi government, citing health issues. 

Prior to this in 2014, Arun Jaitley underwent a bariatric surgery to address the excess weight he had gained due to diabetes.
