On Tuesday, former Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, accused cabinet minister Nawab Malik as well as his family of procuring a 2.80-acre plot from Mohammed Salim Patel, claimed to be a “frontman” for underworld gangster, Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parker and from Badshah Khan, a convict from the 1993 blast, in 2005, stated reports.
During a press conference, Fadnavis elaborated that he had documents of five property deals that he would give to the concerned authorities. In addition to this, he also stated that he would give the document to Sharad Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader.
Solidus investment is Nawab Malik’s company and land was purchased from these underworld criminals.

Why did you purchase land from criminals of Mumbai❓: @Dev_Fadnavis #DevendraFadnavis pic.twitter.com/bvxjfG6ZMm
Based on accounts he elaborated on how this is a direct connection with the underworld. He added that he has documents of five property deals, four of which were bought linked to the underworld. He will ascertain the concerned authorities, either the ED, NIA and give it to them.
Fadnavis believes that Malik was involved in business with those linked to the blasts, by purchasing land from convicts of the case at a cheaper price than that market. He questioned if this deal was undertaken to save the prime property from being forfeited under the TDA law.
The leader of the opposition mentioned that the prime plot on the LBS Road in Kurla has purchased at a minimal price of INR 30 lakh, whilst the market price was INR 2,053 per square feet in the area in 2005. He mentioned that the deal was undertaken when Malik was a minister in the earlier NCP-Congress government.
Malik has now reacted to the allegations by claiming that he will expose Fadnavis’s links to the underworld on Wednesday. It is interesting to note that the back and forth between the political leaders is transpiring amidst the backdrop of the approaching BMC elections in 2022.
