The Guardian Ministers of Mumbai City and Suburban Districts have been given offices in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Headquarters. On the same lines, Ambadas Danve, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, has reiterated the demand that we should also be given an office as the Leader of the Opposition in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters. He also criticised that the office of the guardian minister in the headquarters of the BMC has become the stronghold of the BJP.

Ambadas Danve visited BMC headquarters on Thursday. He once again made this demand while interacting with journalists at that time. Suburban District Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha was given a hall on the first floor of the Municipal Corporation headquarters on July 21. He was strongly opposed by the political circles, especially the Thackeray group. MLA Aditya Thackeray also demanded that this hall should not be given to Lodha. However, Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal had clarified while presenting his position on this controversy that this hall was given due to the demand of the guardian minister. Also, the Commissioner also clarified that if the Guardian Minister of the city district makes a demand, he will also be given a hall. Lodha was given a hall in the month of July. After that in October, City District Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar was given a hall next to Lodha's hall on the first floor.

After Lodha was given the chance, it was widely criticised by the opposition. People's representatives from the opposition party also criticised that the former corporator of BJP got the rightful office due to giving the hall to Lodha. Now Danve has demanded to give them an office too.

Due to the dispute between the two factions of Shiv Sena, all the offices of the political parties in the municipal headquarters have been locked. Therefore, former corporators have no right office in the municipal headquarters. But now after BJP, due to Kesarkar's lobby, former corporators of Shinde group have also got their rightful office. Danve has criticised that the Guardian Minister's office has only ex-Corporators of BJP, so it is a stronghold of BJP.
