India Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale confirmed that 12 Mirage 2000 jets participated in the air strike which was carried out early morning in Pakistan in response to the recent Pulwama terror attack
Twelve days after Pulwama terror attack which martyred over 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers, Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out an operation dropping 1000 kg bombs destroying terror posts in Pakistan.
The reports have claimed that the IAF carried out the air strike on Tuesday early morning in which 12 Mirage 2000 jets participated and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist camps in Balakote, Chakothi, and Muzaffarabad.
High-level meetings to discuss the situation are underway in both countries. The Cabinet Committee on Security is meeting at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence, ANI reports. While New Delhi has not responded to the same, Pakistan has said that India has violated LOC.
Indian Air Force has put on high alert all air defence systems along the international border and LoC to respond to any possible action by Pakistan Air Force. The Mirage fighters, that were used for the air strike, took off from the Ambala air base, and the whole operation took 30 minutes, reported BBC quoting IAF sources.
While addressing the media, India Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale confirmed the same.
"India has responded to Pakistan. Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated National War Memorial and took revenge for the death of our soldiers. This is just a start, India will block the water supply to Pakistan."
