Shiv Pratisthan carried out a protest rally in Mumbai on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in support of the right-wing leader Sambhaji Bhide, who has been held accused of Bhima-Koregaon violence. This rally was supposed to start from Byculla to Azad Maidan but when police denied the permission, the Shiv Pratisthan party workers gathered at Azad Maidan.

Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh's president Prakash Ambedkar had carried out a similar protest rally on March 26, 2018, demanding the state government to arrest Sambhaji Bhide after arresting Milind Ekbote, one of the main conspirators who allegedly conspired during Bhima-Koregaon violence.

When everyone was anticipating Bhide's arrest, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told the legislative assembly that the state could not arrest Bhide for the lack of proofs and gave a clean chit to Bhide.

One of the members of Shiv Pratisthan party had commented that blaming Bhide is distasteful and such act is not suitable for a person like Prakash Ambedkar. They said that whoever has doubts about the party should check party's history, as they have never carried out riots.
