The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Maharashtra has extended its support to the central government amid the India China border clashes while demanding ₹1 crore ex-gratia for the families of 20 Indian Army personnel who died in the violent face-off with Chinese Army.

The party has called the government to avenge sacrifice of the soldiers who laid their lives India against Chinese Army. “The martyrdom of our soldiers should not go in vain. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give a befitting reply to China,” it said.

Maharashtra AAP Secretary Dhananjay Shinde said that the party stands with the central government and PM Modi over the issue of Sino-India border tensions. However, he said that there are still many questions which remain unanswered.

“First, the central government said that three soldiers were martyred, then they said 20 soldiers have sacrificed their lives for this nation,” Shine said while accusing the centre of lying that no Indians were captured by China despite media reporting the capture of 10 Indian Army soldiers.

“Now, Prime Minister said that Chinese never infiltrated Indian borders and has not grabbed any part of Indian land. So why were discussions of de-escalations being held with China? why were 20 soldiers martyred?” he asked.

Meanwhile, AAP’s National Executive member Preeti Sharma Menon said that the citizens of this country want to know the truth from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the centre.

“Not giving correct information on martyrdom, hiding number, misleading the country, not giving adequate information to the country on the border dispute, this is a betrayal to all citizens of this country,” Menon asserted.

Interestingly, the AAP was not invited by the Prime Minister for an all-party meeting to discuss the Indo-China border face-off. Reacting to this, Maharashtra AAP Convenor Ranga Rachure said that not inviting Arvind Kejriwal in all-party meeting shows the low mentality of BJP and the entire country opposes this hateful mentality.
