Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Maharashtra are declining in this second wave of the infection and several people across the state, especially professionals, businessmen, and employees are eagerly waiting for the work to resume. As of now, the lockdown in Maharashtra is expected to end on June 1, 2021, however, questions are being raised if the  Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will extend the same once again.

As per reports, CM was asked the question about the lockdown while addressing the media during his recent visit to Ratnagiri, and answering the same, he said that while coronavirus cases are declining in the state, he will not be able to share any update regarding the lockdown. Similar pattern was experienced the first wave of infection where the state was able to control the spread, but soon after the restrictions were eased, the cases increased exponentially, he added.

CM further added that the people in the state will have to follow the guidelines seriously. The current decline in cases has been possible only because of that where the situation was brought under control due to strict rules. Having said that, the government will be taking a decision in the due course, but citizens will have to abide to the norms to tackle the crisis, he said.

Besides this, a number of patients are being affected with black fungus aka mucormycosis, and the number of cases are also on a rise in Maharashtra. On the other hand, there are difficulties in getting medicines for this disease, and hence, the citizens are constantly being appealed to take care of themselves.
