In view of the relocation of the metro car shed, State Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray inspected the new site at Kanjurmarg for Metro 3 car shed on Wednesday, October 14.

The Shiv Sena leader informed the same on Twitter. Three days ago, on Sunday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had decided to shift the Metro car shed from the disputed area to Kanjurmarg.

In view of the recent developments, Aditya Thackeray, Shiv Sena leader, addressing the media stated that the plot at Kanjurmarg, which was handed over to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) was inspected by CMO, MMRDA and MMRCL officials. According to sources, Metro 3 and Metro 6 card depots will be set up here.

In the past, speaking to the public through Facebook Live, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had on Sunday, October 11, made a big announcement stating that the controversial metro car shed in Aarey Colony would be shifted to government land at Kanjurmarg. He also clarified that there will be zero cost for this. On the other hand, the decision of the state government to shift the metro car shed from Aarey to Kanjurmarg has been deemed unfortunate and arrogant by the opposition. Devendra Fadnavis, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, speaking to the media had stated that if the Metro car shed is shifted to Kanjur Marg, an additional ₹4,000 crore will have to be spent.
