Following the Supreme Court's decision that it will not be staying the floor test slated to be held on Thursday, thus paving the way for the floor test to be conducted tomorrow, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray went live on social media to interact with the citizens. 

Through the mean of this live session, he declared that he is resigning from the post of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. In addition to this, he also proclaimed that he is resigning as a member of the state council. He added that he will begin sitting at the Shiv Sena Bhavan and revive the path of the party.

He proclaimed, "Nobody can stake a claim on Shiv Sena". Moreover, he added, "I do not feel sab about resigning. I had left Varsha last week and shifted to Matoshree. I am sacrificing the post of the Chief Minister".

Further, the Shiv Sena leader voiced that heads are being counted to assess the majority, however, he is not keen to know who is against him.

Thackeray lauded the citizens of the state by mentioning that no communal riots took place because of the patience shown by the locals in the state. Whilst saying this he articulated that there is news about the deployment of central security forces in the city which he thinks is quite strange. In light of this, he urged Shiv Sainiks to not put any hurdles on the path of the rebels to reach the Vidhan Bhavan to take the oath.

Thackeray continued to urge the rebels to come and have discussions with him. At the same time, he accepted the SC's order with humility and thanked the Governor for respecting the democracy by calling for a floor test.

Additionally, he brought to light that the state cabinet renamed Aurangabad as Sambhajinagar, Osmanabad as Dharashiv and Navi Mumbai International Airport after DB Patil. Moreover, the cabinet cleared the plot for the construction of homes for the government employees at Mumbai's Bandra.

Thackeray went on to thank Sharad Pawar, Congress and his allies in the state. He added that his father Balasaheb Thackeray gave recognition to ordinary workers and offered them various posts, but now they are not happy.
