Ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections, in good news, the state government has announced to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees by three per cent. With this, the DA for the state government employees has increased to 12 per cent from nine per cent.
Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar informed that this decision was taken by the finance department. According to the revised pay structure of the seventh pay commission from January 2019, the DA of the basic salary has been increased.

The hike will come into effect from July 1, 2019. Moreover, an independent order will be issued for the remaining amount between January 1 and June 30.
