The results of the recently held Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections for six seats in the constituency of graduates, teachers and local self-governing bodies were announced on December 3, 2020, and as per reports, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has given a big blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The elections were held on December 1, 2020.

This year, the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress decided to contest the elections together in the teacher-graduate constituency, and according to the results of four out of six graduate-teacher constituencies, Congress and NCP have won three seats. The former ruling party in the state, BJP, had to settle for one seat, whereby party leader Amrish Patel emerged victorious in the Dhule-Nandurbar constituency. However, seats in Aurangabad and Pune were won by NCP's Satish Chavan and Pune candidate Arun Lad.

Records state that the MVA candidates won in the prestigious graduate constituencies of Nagpur and Pune, and with this BJP has been facing defeat in Pune constituency after 20 years.

A quota of 1.15 lakh votes was needed for victory in Pune graduate constituency, and MVA's Arun Lad won with over 1.22 lakh votes, whereas BJP's Sangram Deshmukh only got 73,321 votes. Besides this, BJP has faced defeat in the Nagpur graduate constituency, which was considered to be the strength of Devendra Fadnavis. However, MVA's Abhijit Vanjari won in Nagpur constituency and defeated BJP candidate Sandeep Joshi.

NCP's Satish Chavan, who won the Aurangabad graduate constituency twice in a row, scored a hat trick, and this time won by over 1.16 lakh votes, defeating BJP's Shirish Boralkar who could only get 58,743 votes.
