Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will appear before Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 22 in connection with its investigation regarding alleged irregularities in a loan and equity investment made by Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Service (IL&FS) in Kohinoor CTNL.

In a public statement issued on Twitter, Thackeray on Tuesday urged his party workers to maintain peace and harmony on August 22 and has asserted that the common man should not suffer in any way.

No harm or damage should come upon any public property and the common man should not suffer in any way. We all have honoured notices sent by the investigating agencies and the court of law. This time too, we all must honour the summons sent by the ED,” MNS chief Raj Thackeray said in a statement.

Earlier, the agitated MNS had called for a ‘bandh’ in Thane and had asked the people to not step out of their residences while labelling ED’s move as a “political vendetta”.

However, the strike was called off after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday warned MNS of ‘consequences’ saying that the state government will take action against those who take laws in their hands.
