Amid the Rafale Deal uproar, Congress has planned to protest against the Modi government on September 27 demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maharashtra Congress President Ashok Chavan on Saturday said that a joint parliamentary committee should be formed to probe the matter.

While addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Chavan endorsed the statement made by former French President and said that Rafale deal is the biggest scam in the history of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman have betrayed the people by repeatedly lying in Parliament. They should resign from their post immediately,” Maharashtra Congress President Ashok Chavan.

Earlier, former French President Francois Hollande said that Indian government proposed Anil Ambani-led Reliance Defence in the jet deal and France had no choice.

Chavan slammed PM Modi and said that his industrialist friends’ interest is more important than of the nation and claimed that Modi favoured Anil Ambani for Rafale deal keeping aside the security of soldiers and nation.

Congress has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of crooking with the deal. During UPA government, the Congress had fixed the price for each aircraft at ₹526 crore for 126 Rafale jets. However, after the Modi government came into the power, the rate increased to ₹1670 crore.
