BJP's National President JP Nadda, who came on Mumbai tour to weaken the Maha Vikas Aghadi, has once again heated up the market of discussion in the politics of Maharashtra due to one of his statements. BJP national president JP Nadda, on his visit to the city, asked party workers to ensure that the next mayor of Mumbai is from the BJP.
Nadda held several rounds of meetings with prominent leaders of Mumbai and Maharashtra during his two-day state visit. Amid the recent debacle in the Legislative and Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee polls, Nadda not only took stock of the party's preparations for the Lok Sabha and municipal elections, but also discussed the poll strategy and tie-up with BJP's alliance partner Shiv Sena.
Addressing booth-level party workers in Kandivali, Nadda hit home. "The two-and-a-half-year tenure of the MVA government was full of corruption and inefficiency," he said. “The Shinde-Fadnavis government has brought back the growth engine in the state. The next Mayor of Mumbai will be from BJP, we all should contribute with all our might to achieve this”.
Nadda had lunch at the residence of slum-dwelling Dalit party leader Sanghdeep Kedare in Ghatkopar East's Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar.
