Amid heavy downpour which brought Mumbai to a standstill, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday slammed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Maharashtra government over the poor infrastructure and misgovernance which intensified the monsoon mayhem.

Blaming the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena, in a statement, AAP asserted that the “pathetic” civic infrastructure and “gross” misgovernance drowned Mumbaikars and “left them at the mercies of the elements”.

While highlighting the pothole issue across Mumbai, AAP alleged that the damage caused by continuous rainfall has been aggravated due to the “gross” misgovernance and “whole scale corruption”. The BJP-Shiv Sena front is in power at all three levels including BMC, State and Centre.

In the statement, AAP informed that the Chitale Committee report and the Brihanmumbai Storm Water Disposal System (BRIMSTOWAD) project have still not been implemented, even after the 26/7 deluge.
