Suraj Chavan of the Thackeray group has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the alleged malpractice in the distribution of khichdi in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) during the Corona period. In November, the Economic Offenses Branch had issued summons to Amol Kirtikar and Suraj Chavan of the Thackeray group. Both were interrogated on November 25. Even after that, inquiry and investigation was going on in this matter. Meanwhile, ED has arrested Suraj Chavan on January 17 night. Chavan is considered close to Aaditya Thackeray.
