The State Government has transferred Tukaram Munde, Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner. S Ramaswamy will be the new municipal commissioner of the Navi Mumbai municipal corporation.The reason for the transfer is yet unknown. Munde took strict action against the illegal construction all over Navi Mumbai during his tenure.
All the political parties protested against the municipal commissioner. Earlier a no-confidence motion was moved against Tukaram Munde in which 105 voted against him while six voted in his favour. Munde became famous in very short span of time courtesy his valiant attitude towards growing problems in the satellite city. People even initiated the movement to protest against his transfer, but to their dismay, he has been transferred. Has the state government made a scapegoat of one of their best bureaucrats just to appease their coalition parter?
