Rahul Gandhi not the only alternative to Modi: NCP Chief Sharad Pawar

The NCP chief also said that people are smart and they will choose an alternative to Modi in the upcoming elections

Ahead of Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections next year, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Monday said that Congress President Rahul Gandhi dreams of becoming the Prime Minister but this cannot happen without a unanimous decision carried out by other opposition parties.

Speaking at Yashwantrao Chavan Hall in Mumbai, Pawar asserted that Congress’ PM candidate cannot be nominated in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections saying that the party which fetches a number of MPs will have the right to choose the PM. “Everyone will have to be prepared for this,” said Pawar.

While addressing the party workers, Pawar also spoke about the recent arrests being carried out in connection with the Narendra Dabholkar Murder Case. He said that attacking intellectuals is attacking secularism. “Organisation which is behind this shall be condemned,” Pawar added.
