Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has questioned the probe being carried out by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. He said that the investigation has gone in a different direction.

While speaking to reporters in Padharpur, Pawar raised questions over the progress made by the CBI in its probe. The SSR death case, which was being probed by Mumbai Police, was transferred to CBI as a result of political pressure.

Although it has been more than a month, the CBI has not come across any concrete evidence in the SSR death case. The CBI recently stated that the matter was being investigated by all parties.

“The Sushant Singh Rajput death case was being probed by the Mumbai Police but was handed over to CBI. However, we are yet to see the light of what this agency did. The issue of suicide has been kept aside and other things are being investigated. The question is whether the truth will come out or not,” Pawar said.

Pawar was referring to the probe initiated by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) into the Bollywood-drug nexus.

Meanwhile, the AIIMS said in the Sushant Singh Rajput case that no poison was found in his body. BJP's face has turned black due to this. The Congress has strongly criticized the BJP for investigating the mastermind of the BJP and Modi government for conspiring to defame Mumbai and Maharashtra.

Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant claimed that a conspiracy was hatched to divert people’s attention from the failures of Narendra Modi government to tackle issues including the economy, coronavirus pandemic, unemployment and farmers in the country.
