Amid Maratha Reservation Row, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday postponed the mega recruitment scheme for government jobs which Maharashtra government had planned to launch in July.

Talking to the media, CM Fadnavis said that until the issue of Maratha reservation is resolved, the mega recruitment scheme will not come into effect. CM Fadnavis informed that the state government is waiting for Backward Class Commission’s report and hopes to resolve the reservation row till November.


If the issue is not resolved at the earliest, a special Assembly Session will be arranged for the same,” said CM Fadnavis.

Talking about the reservation row, CM Fadnavis appealed to young protesters to not commit suicide over this issue and said that it was necessary to announce this to remove all the doubts, among the Maratha community, regarding the reservation.

While speaking, CM Fadnavis said that passing an ordinance in the assembly won’t help solve the issue but Backward Class Commission will have to submit its report too.
