Shiv Sena spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi slammed Amruta Fadnavis, wife of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, over her taunt on the newly formed Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government regarding the cutting of trees in Aurangabad.

On Twitter, Chaturvedi directed her tweet at Amruta Fadnavis saying that compulsive lying was a “disease” while claiming that no trees were being cut in Aurangabad for the construction of Bal Thackeray memorial.

This happened after media reports informed that nearly 1,000 trees will be cut for construction of a memorial dedicated to late Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.

Amruta Fadnavis took to Twitter to criticise the Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra while calling Shiv Sena a "hypocrite".

"Hypocrisy is a disease. Get well soon, Shiv Sena. Tree curring – at your convenience or allowing tree cutting only when you earn a commission – unpardonable sins,” Amruta Fadnavis said in a tweet.

Reacting to this, Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi claimed that no trees were being cut for the Thackeray memorial in Aurangabad while saying that it was BJP which promotes commission for cutting trees.

Aurangabad Mayor Nandkumar Ghodele had also given a statement saying that the administration will not allow trees to be cut for Thackeray memorial.
