Milk Row: Opposition leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil says “Don’t curb agitation”

With Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) protesting against Maharashtra government demanding to increase the selling price of milk, opposition leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, in a tweet, asserted that the government should not try to crush Milk Producers’ movement.

This agitation is a result of unfulfilled promises made by the government and Congress fully supports the movement, said Patil. “I will raise this issue in Maharashtra Assembly session under rule 57 and 97,” the Opposition leader informed.

Neither the government should try to curb protestors by using its power nor it should threaten the farmers. Maharashtra Government should keep in mind that if farmers are oppressed, they will pay a huge price for the same,” Opposition leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil.

Earlier, Minister for Dairy Development Mahadev Jankar claimed that this protest is a political gimmick of Lok Sabha MP and SSS president Raju Shetti. Jankar asserted that there will be strong action taken against those who participate in Shetti’s agitation.
