Rajasthan BJP MLA Kiran Maheshwari passes away due to COVID-19

Upon knowing about MLA Maheshwari's demise, Prime Minister Narandra Modi and ministers across India took twitter to offer condolences.

BJP leader Kiran Maheshwari who was a three-time MLA from Rajsamand in Rajasthan had tested positive for coronavirus last month. She was admitted in Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital for 21 days, and her condition until recently became critical. She passed away late in the night on Sunday, November 29, 2020. 

Several ministers across India condoled her demise and shared the message on social media. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, BJP state president Satish Poonia and other leaders took to Twitter to share their condolences

"Pained by the untimely demise of Kiran Maheshwari Ji. Be it as MP, MLA or Cabinet Minister in the Rajasthan Government, she made numerous efforts to work towards the progress of the state and empower the poor as well as marginalised. Condolences to her family. Om Shanti," the Prime Minister tweeted

"Saddened to know of the untimely demise of BJP leader & Rajsamand MLA Kiran Maheshwari ji. My heartfelt condolences to her family members & supporters in this most difficult time," Gehlot tweeted.
