Rashtra Rakshak Janmanch (RRJ) has yet again questioned the religion of Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi. The right-wing organisation has written a letter expressing doubt whether the members of the Gandhi family follow Hinduism or not.

RRJ President Ramesh Joshi has claimed that the husband of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Feroze Gandhi was a Parsi and named himself ‘Gandhi’ to gain political advantage in the name of Mahatma Gandhi.

“...however, as per the Tehmulji Nariman Hospital, the original surname of Feroze Gandhi was ‘Gandi’,” Joshi asserted.

The RRJ chief said that Gandhi family is fooling the people by using their surname insisting that the original surname of late Indira Gandhi’s husband was ‘Gandi’.

“Rahul Gandhi is misleading people by claiming that he is a Brahmin,” said Joshi.

Before the Lok Sabha elections last year, Rahul Gandhi had informed that he is Brahmin belonging to Kaul Dattatreya gotra while visiting various temples in the country.

Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, on multiple occasions earlier, has alleged that Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are not practising Hindus.
