Ghatkopar - If the plethora of candidates per ward is not enough to confuse voters, there are now two candidates with the same first name battling it out for ward 130 in Ghatkopar.
Kavita Fernandes, denied a party ticket by the Shiv Sena, has rebelled and is contesting the BMC elections as an independent candidate. The Sena meanwhile has chosen another Kavita - Kavita Walunj - to contest the polls on the party ticket. A face off is now likely between two Kavitas. Both are determined to sweep the polls in the ward. Fernandes insists that the local population has been witness to the good work she has been doing in the area for the last few years and that all the hard work will pay off. Walunj on the other hand says that the party has dumped Fernandes and has chosen the right candidate to represent the party.
