After his surgery at Mumbai’s Asian Heart Institute, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday returned to Patna. After being convicted in the fodder scam, Yadav was granted temporary bail due to his poor health condition. 

The RJD chief was suffering from chest pain and had a low haemoglobin level. Earlier, the 70-year-old had also gone to AIIMS in Delhi for his kidney check-up. Earlier on June 24, Yadav had fistula surgery at Asian Heart Hospital and the doctors have recommended him to take rest for almost three months.

Lalu was allowed to move out of the jail due to his health condition. On May 11, he got a six-week provisional bail which was to end on June 28. However, after Lalu Prasad Yadav wrote to Jharkhand High Court asking to extend the bail for six more weeks, the HC further extended his bail.
