Maharashtra Leader of Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis on Monday, April 25, wrote a letter to home secretary Ajay Bhalla, demanding action against those involved in alleged attack on BJP leader Kirit Somaiya’s car. Additionally, BJP delegation left for Delhi this morning to meet Union Home Secretary over an alleged 'attack' on Kirit Somaiya by Shiv Sena workers in Maharashtra.

The BJP delegation includes MLA Mihir Kotecha, MLA Amit Satam, MLA Parag Shah, MLA Rahul Narvekar, Vinod Mishra and Kirit Somaiya. They will meet the Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla at North Block, Delhi.

This development came two days after Somaiya claimed that he was injured in the alleged stone-pelting incident by the Shiv Sena workers in Mumbai on Saturday, April 23.

Responding to Fadnavis, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut accused Kirit Somaiya and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) of creating drama by visiting Delhi to meet with Union Home Secretary over alleged attack by Shiv Sainiks on Kirit Somaiya.

While talking to the media, the Shiv Sena MP questioned this act by the opposition party and said that a delegation with 2-4 people is going to Delhi about what happened in Maharashtra. Someone bled a little, if you have a problem, meet the Maharashtra CM, but you're going to Delhi, what is this?

Maharashtra is under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray, so they should approach him. These people are insulting Maharashtra, making a drama, he added.

The attack took place when Somaiya had visited Khar Police Station to meet Amravati MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana who were arrested on the same day earlier.
