Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut in conversation commenting on the action against Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, said, "The law is followed in Maharashtra. Police can take action if they have evidence against anyone. Since the formation of Thackeray government, no action has been taken against anyone for revenge",

On Wednesday (November 4) morning, Arnab Goswami was arrested by Mumbai Police. He has been arrested in connection with the death of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in Alibaug in 2018. Goswami was arrested from his house and later sent to judicial custody. 

Raut explaining his point said, “Since the formation of the Thackeray government, no action has been taken against anyone for revenge.”  He went on to add, "I don't think this is a black day for journalism. Journalists must also follow their limits. You are not a court or an investigative mechanism. You cannot mislead people by saying anything against anyone. Such an observation has been reported by the Supreme Court. So will you ask them if this is a black day?"

He also pointed that in the past few months, Arnab Goswami through his Republic channel has made numerous false allegations against the state government Raut has also demanded that the police should investigate those allegations
