On Tuesday, November 24, Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut stated that the raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on properties of party MLA Pratap Sarnaik as "political vendetta" for taking a firm stand against a "television channel" with regards to the Anvay Naik suicide case.

Arnab Goswami, Republic TV editor-in-chief, is an accused in the abetment of suicide case of Anvay Naik, an interior designer who had killed himself over alleged non-payment of dues by Republic TV for his work in 2018.

Furthermore, without naming the BJP, he stated that the opposition should forget the dream of coming to power in Maharashtra for the next 25 years, "no matter how much pressure it exerts or spreads terror through agencies". Raut further added that Sarnaik's properties were raided while the latter was not at home asserting that no matter how many notices are issued, only the truth shall prevail in Maharashtra.

Sarnaik was in the news earlier after he demanded that Kangana Ranaut be booked for sedition for comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Moreover, he had stated that the actor "maligned" the image of Maharashtra and Mumbai through her tweets. As a result, this has given birth to speculations over the ED raiding Sarnaik's house. Moreover, as per reports, Sarnaik has met Sena MP Sanjay Raut after the Central Agency conducted raids on Sarnaik's residence.

On the other hand, Sharad Pawar, NCP stalwart alleged foul play and targeted the Centre. "Instead of answering questions of people, government agencies are being used against political opponents. Our government has completed a year so they now know that they can't come to power here. Hence they are using the power they have in the Centre," Pawar said in a statement.
