A few days ago, the trees planted by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde at Ambernath’s Mangrul area were burned down by a group of miscreants. While it has been suspected that the act was set up by the local land mafia, once again, another area where Shinde had planted trees has been burned down. This time, the Khuntivali area near Ambernath where Shinde had planted trees was burned down by the wrongdoers on November 23, Friday.

The Shiv Sena MP told Mumbai Live that after receiving information about the fire, the Fire Brigade Department reached the spot and tried to douse the fire. He also expressed his displeasure towards the recurring incidents of fires at the areas where he had planted trees and indicated signs of protest until he receives justice.

Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde and the people had sowed more than 1,00,000 trees within 80 acres of Ambernath’s Mangrul area. However, 70 per cent of the trees were recently burned down by the land mafias in the area.

Angered by this, Shiv Sena members protested against the officials by throwing ash on them. The land mafia as well other miscreants have been eyeing the land at Mangrul as it is resource-rich property and thus, there have been repeated attempts to burn the trees down at Mangrul.

Meanwhile, the Forest Minister has ordered an investigation of the entire matter and has asked concerned officials to look into the matter. On the other hand, Shinde has made it clear that as long as the guilty people aren’t punished, they will continue to protest.
