Hearing is still pending

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's six corporators Harshila More, Ashwini Matekar, Parmeshwar Kadam, Archana Bhalerao, Datta Narvankar and MNS group leader Dilip Lande defect MNS and joined Shiv Sena. MNS took the matter to the Konkan divisional commissioner and requested to terminate these corporators. The hearing was expected to take place on Tuesday around 11:00 am but the hearing was adjourned and the next hearing date has not been finalised.

There is a possibility that the decision would go against six corporators for defecting MNS. Meanwhile, Sena leaders believe that Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is trying to prove Sena wrong by backing MNS.

By-election better than a ban

Instead of facing a permanent ban in a commissioner's hearing, a group of Sena leaders have advised these corporators to resign and contest for by-elections.

Both the parties i.e. Shiv Sena and MNS will pay a heavy price if the said six corporators are banned. Also, the case will go on for many days in the court and the parties will have to suffer. Considering this, it is being speculated that the six corporators might resign and will contest by-elections.
